Megiddo

After a year of conservation and renovation Tel Megiddo – the archaeological motherlode of the Land of Israel has reopened to the public. 30 layers spanning from the Neolithic Period to the Babylonians – 3,000 years and more of human settlement can be seen at the site. 120 years of excavations – ongoing even today – have unearthed temples, and palaces, walls, and gates, a magnificent water system together with gold, ivory, and silver treasures. This special issue of ERETZ Magazine delves into the expeditions, the finds, the various interpretations of the finds, and how did Tel Megiddo – Har Megadon – become  Armageddon – the site of the final battle of the apocalypse.
